Century ride 2010

The Club is holding its annual Century Ride on October 9th 2010 and all members are welcome to participate in one of the Clubs established rides.

The 160km (100mile) journey begins at 5:00am from McDonalds at Capalaba and eventually ends at Banjos at Cleveland.

The route will take us down to Sanctuary Cove and back taking a few deviations along the way. The peloton will stay together for the first half of the ride before stopping to enjoy breakfast at one of the local Cafes at Sanctuary Cove. From here the bunch will split into two groups as per a normal Saturday ride with the first group likely to increase their average speed for the ride back to Banjos. The second group will take a more measured approach resulting with an estimated time of arrival at Banjos of around 11:30am.

As in the past, medals commemorating the ride will be presented to all riders who complete the ride. Presentations will occur later in the year.

Details of the route will be available by following the link on our website. Please take the time to have a look at the route and all the deviations along the way.

A similar distance ride for the juniors within the club is in the planning - stay tuned.
