Queensland Road Teams Time Trial

Dear Secretaries,

Please find attached information pertaining to the 2010 Queensland Road Teams Time Trial Championships. This year the event will be held at Tent Hill on Sunday 19th September.  As this is the biggest event on the calendar the support of as many volunteers as possible will be a great help.
Clubs are encouraged to use the online entry system to register your teams and a step-by-step guide for doing so can be found below.

How to Register a Team Using the CQ Online Entry System

  1. Select a team manager (CA licence holder) whose duties are to obtain the licence numbers and correct spelling of team member’s surnames.
  2. Go to http://www.qld.cycling.org.au/onlineentries & click Online Race Entry Member Log-In.
  3. Team manager must enter the Online Entry System using the surname and licence number of one of the eligible riders.
  4. Register Team Manager and Team Name – Change the licence number from the rider’s licence entered in step 3 to the team managers licence number and select a team name.  If the name has already been used it will prompt you to choose a different name.
  5. Confirm Team Manager – The team managers’ details are displayed.  Edit any details that are incorrect.  Click ‘NEXT’ to confirm.
  6. Write down the Race Code and Team Name displayed.  Follow the link to the login page.  Hint: If you lose the details you will receive an automated email containing the link, race code and team name.
  7. After entering the correct race code and team name the manager should add each rider to the squad including any reserves (max 6).  Once riders are finalised the manager should “Register and Pay” for the team entry. Please note Once the team is registered and paid no further adjustments can be made to the team.  If you are unsure of your team make-up please Save & Exit selections & come back when the team is finalised, but ensure this is prior to 5th September. Hint: Use the URL provided in the automated email to edit team
  8. Once the Register and Pay button is pressed the system will ask you to confirm the amount to be charged.
  9. Any further changes to squads should be made on Form B and handed in at Registration 30 minutes prior to race.  All squad changes prior to race day should also be advised to Matthew Gillett This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it in writing to ensure transponders can be made available.
  10. Payment must be finalised by Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa or Bankcard are accepted).  (If payment is required by cheque, money order or cash please use the Manual Team Race Entry Form). Enter Card Number & Expiry Date and Click ‘Pay Now’.
  11. A tax receipt will be emailed to the Manager’s email address entered in Step 5.  If you experience difficulties please call the CQ Office (07) 3390 1477

Other important details are:

ü  Each Team Member must represent the same club and have been a bone-fide member for a period of at least two months.  In exceptional circumstances (e.g. change of residence or new memberships), such requirement may be waivered by the CQ Board on written application.  If the rider is a new member to cycling this rule does also not apply.

ü  Teams must comprise of three or four riders.  The final time for each team is taken on the third rider of each team across the finish line.

ü  FORM B must be presented thirty minutes (30) before the starting time for each event, with the four licences from each team.  Also, the support vehicles for each team must be registered with the Racing Secretary, along with the driver of same and coach for each team.

ü  Each team must have an official, acting as an independent observer from another club following in the support vehicle.  Club personnel are requested to arrange this official and register him/her on FORM B.  Should the team not be able to locate an independent observer, NO VEHICLE AT ALL is to follow the team.

Kind Regards,

Great Day for WRCC at State Duathlon Champs

A great day for WRCC at the state duathlon champs in Gatton!

Both Weavers girls Alexandria and Monique won their category as the first girls in the kids and mini-kids duathlon. Monique managed a second place overall, beating all  but one of the boys and leaving the other young Queensland boys behind and wondering about girl power.

Mellissa Rollinson, true to form managed to convincingly win the womens race by 6 minutes and going around 10 minutes faster than last year. Pretty impressive considering that she just started cycling again 2 weeks ago and had a bad accident 2 days before the race.

Luke Preston managed a third in his age group, but would have done a lot better if he respected the environment. Yes, our Lukie (the Kid) was caught out shamefully littering a gel packet - an offence that gets you 3 minutes in the penalty box under triathlon rules. However, undeterred, he carried on with is race and still posted an impressive result. Well done Luke, the Shrek of Shame is yours for another week!

Paolo was also left wondering about girl power - after running his fastest 10k ever and thinking he would catch mighty Mel on the bike, was stunned by the fact that even his new disc wheel could not make a dent in the gap - she managed the same bike split as him! Next year he will try his luck at the state bingo championships!

Well done all, a great race and a proud day for the club.
